I have closed a door behind me
and walk a lengthy corridor
I walk towards the other door
wondering what is behind it.
Will there be wolves or princesses awaiting me?
As I step closer I become so scared
Why must I fear the unknown?
I await friends and brothers and sisters
I walk toward smiles and embraces
Now my hand is about to turn the knob
knowing that beyond it is freedom
A freedom I have been living for
All my experiences have led to this.
As I open the door I step into thin air
and now it is time for me to fly.
Is this what butterflies feel like
right when they escape their cocoon?
